Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huanjingjian Decoction is a traditional Chinese herbal formula currently being evaluated for the treatment of premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). It is being investigated in a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial led by Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital to assess its efficacy and safety when used as an adjunct to hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The formula is intended to alleviate clinical symptoms associated with POI, such as menstrual irregularities and hot flashes, and to improve ovarian function by regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis and restoring hormonal balance. Participants in clinical studies receive the decoction orally over a multi-month period, with assessments focusing on symptom relief, treatment adherence, and laboratory markers of ovarian reserve.
