Overview

Huannao YicongFang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound formula developed by Xiyuan Hospital, China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The formula is designed based on the TCM theory of "deficiency, stasis, and toxin" (虚、瘀、毒) as the primary drivers of cognitive decline. It typically comprises extracts from *Panax ginseng*, *Polygonum multiflorum*, *Acorus tatarinowii*, *Coptis chinensis*, and *Ligusticum chuanxiong*. Preclinical and clinical studies suggest that the formula exerts neuroprotective effects by reducing amyloid-beta (Aβ) deposition, inhibiting neuroinflammation, and improving synaptic plasticity and cholinergic function in the brain.
