Overview
Huashi decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by The First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically designed for the treatment of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), particularly in patients presenting with the "phlegm-dampness" syndrome according to TCM diagnostic criteria. The decoction is composed of multiple botanical ingredients that work synergistically to regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis, improve insulin sensitivity, and reduce hyperandrogenism. Clinical research conducted at the developing institution has demonstrated its potential to lower body mass index (BMI), reduce serum testosterone levels, and restore regular menstrual cycles and ovulation in women with PCOS.
