Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huatan Tongluo Decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula primarily composed of herbs with phlegm-resolving, blood circulation-promoting, and collateral-activating properties, such as *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, *Acorus tatarinowii*, *Gastrodia elata*, and *Atractylodes macrocephala*. It is used to treat conditions involving thrombosis, poor blood circulation, and blood stasis, such as acute cerebral infarction and post-stroke sequelae. The decoction is thought to exert its therapeutic effects by promoting neurological recovery, improving motor function, and potentially mediating the VEGF signaling pathway, as well as attenuating the TGF-β1/Smad2/3 and NF-kB/HIF-1α/MMPs signaling pathways.
