Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huayong No.1 compound probiotics is a multi-strain probiotic formulation developed for the adjunctive treatment of psychiatric disorders, specifically major depressive disorder (MDD) with comorbid anxiety symptoms. Developed by The Affiliated Brain Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, the therapy is designed to modulate the gut-microbiota-brain axis to alleviate depressive and anxiety symptoms, improve cognitive function, and mitigate gastrointestinal distress. The formulation is typically administered orally as a supplement to standard antidepressant therapy. It is currently being evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials to assess its efficacy in improving clinical outcomes and modulating biological markers associated with the gut-brain axis in adult patients.
