Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huayu Tongbi Decoction (also known as Huayu Tongbi Recipe or Huayu Tongbi Fang) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal decoction developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine (The Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine) for the treatment of active refractory rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The formula is composed of seven key herbs: Rhizoma Dioscoreae Nipponicae (ChuanShanLong), Salvia miltiorrhiza (DanShen), Astragalus Mongholicus (HuangQi), Radix Paeoniae Alba (BaiShao), Rhizoma Corydalis (YanHuSuo), Radix Aconiti Carmichaeli (FuZi), and Radix Glycyrrhizae (GanCao). Huayu Tongbi Decoction exerts its therapeutic effects by suppressing joint inflammation, inhibiting synovial angiogenesis, and reducing bone erosion. Mechanistically, it has been shown to modulate the HIF1A/VEGFA/ANGPT axis, inhibit NF-κB and JAK/STAT signaling pathways, and suppress RANKL-induced osteoclastic differentiation.
