Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huayu Wan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescription used primarily in the context of cancer therapy and prevention of metastasis. It is formulated based on the TCM principle of "Yiqi Huoxue Jiedu," targeting core pathogenesis such as "deficiency," "stasis," and "toxin." Preclinical studies have shown that Huayu Wan can promote microangiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels) and increase blood supply in tumor tissues, which enhances drug delivery—specifically improving the efficacy of chemotherapeutic agents like doxorubicin. However, this increased vascularization may also raise the risk of metastasis if not carefully managed. Additionally, animal studies indicate that Huayu Wan inhibits lung cancer metastasis by modulating platelet activation and reducing levels of pro-metastatic factors such as VEGF, bFGF, and CD62P[1][2][3][4].
