Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HuaYuTongBiFang (HYTBF) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine specifically for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The formula's name reflects its therapeutic intent in TCM theory: 'Hua Yu' refers to resolving blood stasis, while 'Tong Bi' refers to clearing the 'Bi' (obstruction) syndrome associated with joint pain and stiffness. Administered as oral granules, HYTBF has been evaluated in clinical trials both as a standalone therapy and in combination with conventional disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) like methotrexate. The formula aims to reduce systemic inflammation, alleviate joint swelling and pain, and improve the quality of life for patients with RA by modulating immune responses and improving microcirculation.
