Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huazhuo Sanjie Chubi Granules is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation used primarily for the treatment of gout and chronic gouty arthritis. The formula is composed of multiple herbal ingredients, including Atractylodes (苍术), Smilax glabra (土茯苓), Phellodendron bark (黄柏), Coix seed (薏苡仁), Sarcandra glabra (肿节风), Dioscorea tokoro Makino (萆薢), and Lysimachia christinae Hance (金钱草)[1][7]. Its main functions are to resolve turbidity, dissipate nodules, and eliminate "bi" syndrome—terms in TCM referring to clearing dampness-heat, reducing inflammation, promoting uric acid excretion, relieving pain and swelling in joints. Modern pharmacological studies suggest that its active components include phenolics, flavonoids, alkaloids, and terpenoids; these may act on targets such as SRC kinase and matrix metalloproteinases MMP3/MMP9 involved in inflammation and tissue remodeling[7]. The granule form is administered orally.
