Huazhuo Tiaozhi Granules

Huazhuo Tiaozhi Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula presented as a granule. It is designed to address conditions stemming from spleen deficiency and dysfunction, phlegm-dampness retention, and qi and blood stagnation, which are believed to contribute to lipid turbidity, obesity, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, and atherosclerotic plaque formation. The formula aims to strengthen the spleen, replenish qi, dispel dampness, and resolve turbidity. Research indicates that its various active components exert anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and lipid-lowering effects. For instance, pachymic acid, a component, has been shown to reduce inflammatory cytokines by inhibiting ERK1/2 and p38 MAPK pathways. Atractylenolide, another component, regulates inflammatory pathways by reducing nitric oxide, IL-6, TNF-α, COX-2, and iNOS levels. Additionally, 23-acetylalisol B can regulate blood lipids by promoting estrogen receptor alpha and inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase activity. The drug was developed by Professor Liu Zhongyong of the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
