Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HucMSC-S1-sEVs is a specific subpopulation of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived small extracellular vesicles (HucMSC-sEVs) developed by P.S.K Biosciences (Kornelis Bio-pharmaceutical) in collaboration with Nanjing Medical University. Isolated using tangential flow filtration (TFF) combined with size exclusion chromatography (SEC), HucMSC-S1-sEVs are characterized by high expression of CD9, HRS, and GPC1, and exhibit potent immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties. The therapeutic effect of HucMSC-S1-sEVs in pulmonary fibrosis is mediated by the selective enrichment of hsa-miR-941, which targets and downregulates Calcineurin subunit B type 1 (PPP3R1), thereby suppressing the NFATC1/IL-17A signaling axis in lung fibroblasts to inhibit inflammation and myofibroblast differentiation. HucMSC-S1-sEVs are being investigated as an inhalation therapy for pulmonary fibrosis and have also shown efficacy in colitis models.
