HUDC_VT is an experimental vaginal tablet formulation composed of glucose and sodium chloride, developed by the South Korean company Haudongchun Co., Ltd. for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis (BV). Unlike traditional broad-spectrum antibiotics such as metronidazole, which can deplete beneficial commensal flora and lead to bacterial resistance or systemic toxicity, HUDC_VT is designed to restore and preserve a healthy vaginal ecosystem. The therapeutic rationale is based on providing glucose as a metabolic substrate for beneficial *Lactobacillus* species. These bacteria ferment the glucose into lactic acid, which lowers the vaginal pH to a healthy acidic range (typically < 4.5), thereby inhibiting the overgrowth of pathogenic anaerobic bacteria associated with BV. The sodium chloride component helps maintain the osmotic balance within the vaginal environment during treatment.
