HUFF-01 is an autologous cell therapy product consisting of bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) combined with a recombinant human collagen type I scaffold. It is currently under investigation for the treatment of chronic intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) in the RAINBOW-Hx clinical trial. The therapeutic process involves extracting approximately 50 mL of bone marrow from the patient's iliac bone, culturing the BMSCs using autologous platelet lysate, and combining them with the scaffold three days prior to administration. HUFF-01 is delivered via stereotactic transplantation directly into the hemorrhagic cavity (typically in the basal ganglia or thalamus). The recombinant collagen scaffold is intended to provide a supportive environment that improves the survival, retention, and engraftment of the transplanted BMSCs, thereby facilitating neural repair and functional recovery in patients with long-term neurological deficits.
