Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huganpian is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used for the treatment of liver diseases, including chronic hepatitis and drug-induced liver injury (DILI). Developed and manufactured by Heilongjiang Sunflower Pharmaceutical, it is composed of several herbal extracts including *Bupleurum chinense*, *Artemisia capillaris*, *Isatis tinctoria*, *Schisandra chinensis*, and animal-derived pig gall powder. The formulation exerts hepatoprotective effects by reducing inflammation, promoting bile secretion, and lowering elevated liver enzymes such as alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST). In clinical settings, it is often evaluated for its efficacy in treating acute hepatocellular drug-induced liver injury compared to standard treatments like silymarin.
