Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HuHuangLianzonggan capsule is an investigational botanical/herbal medicine developed by Tasly Pharmaceutical Group for the treatment of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). As a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation, it is currently in Phase 2 clinical development. The drug is being evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center trial (HHL-HEPAR) to assess its efficacy and safety in subjects with biopsy-proven NASH, specifically targeting those with a NAFLD activity score (NAS) of 4 or higher and fibrosis stages 1 to 3. While the specific molecular targets and active chemical constituents have not been publicly disclosed, the treatment aims to improve liver histology and reduce steatohepatitis. It is administered orally in capsule form.
