Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huizhisu B is a botanical extract formulation, primarily derived from *Bacopa monnieri* (also known as Brahmi), currently under clinical investigation for the treatment of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents. The drug is being evaluated in a Phase 3 multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial led by Beijing Anding Hospital. Huizhisu B is thought to exert its therapeutic effects through the modulation of key neurotransmitter systems, including the cholinergic, serotonergic, and dopaminergic pathways, as well as through its antioxidant and neuroprotective properties. These actions are largely attributed to its active constituents, bacosides, which have been shown to enhance synaptic communication and cognitive function in neurodevelopmental contexts.
