Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HUMAB 87G7 is a fully human monoclonal antibody that potently neutralizes SARS-CoV-2, including all major variants of concern (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Omicron). It acts by binding to a highly conserved hydrophobic patch within the ACE2-binding site on the spike protein receptor-binding domain (RBD), thereby blocking viral entry into host cells. The antibody has demonstrated strong prophylactic and therapeutic efficacy in animal models (mice, hamsters, non-human primates) against SARS-CoV-2 infection. Its broad-spectrum activity is attributed to its targeting of conserved residues less prone to mutation across variants. HUMAB 87G7 was developed using both mammalian cell and filamentous fungus-based expression systems for scalable production[2][4][5][6][7].
