Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HuMab-Tn is a series of fully-human monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) developed by MabVax Therapeutics that target the tumor-associated Thomsen-nouveau (Tn) carbohydrate antigen. The Tn antigen is a truncated O-glycan (GalNAc-alpha-Ser/Thr) that is highly expressed on the surface of various epithelial cancer cells, including ovarian, lung, and breast cancers, but is virtually absent in normal tissues. These antibodies are designed for both therapeutic and diagnostic applications, leveraging the high specificity of the Tn antigen to cancer cells to deliver cytotoxic effects or imaging agents. The program was part of MabVax's pipeline focused on targeting carbohydrate antigens that are overexpressed during the transformation of normal cells into malignant ones.
