Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HumaMAX is a functional food ingredient platform developed by MOA Life Plus (formerly BLS Co., Ltd.) that utilizes high-molecular-weight poly-gamma-glutamic acid (γ-PGA). γ-PGA is a naturally occurring, water-soluble biopolymer produced through the fermentation of *Bacillus subtilis*. The HumaMAX platform has achieved significant regulatory milestones, including individual approval from the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) as a functional raw material for immune enhancement and recognition as a New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) by the US FDA. It is primarily marketed for its ability to stimulate natural killer (NK) cell activity and modulate the immune response. Beyond its approved use for immune support, MOA Life Plus is investigating the HumaMAX platform for additional applications in gut health, stomach health, and the reduction of body fat, with these programs currently in preclinical development.
