Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Human-19A is a monoclonal IgA antibody developed by Adnexus Biotechnologies for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19. Developed using an AI-driven platform designed to identify conserved, immutable viral targets, the antibody binds to 19 specific conserved sites across the S1 and S2 subunits of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. By targeting these highly conserved regions, Human-19A is intended to provide broad-spectrum neutralization that remains effective against multiple emerging variants of the virus. The selection of the IgA isotype is specifically intended to enhance mucosal immunity, potentially providing a more effective barrier against respiratory infection compared to standard IgG antibodies. The candidate is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
