Human adipose mesenchymal stem cells (hAD-MSCs) are a population of multipotent stromal cells derived from adipose tissue, typically obtained via lipoaspiration. These cells are characterized by their ability to differentiate into mesodermal lineages (adipocytes, osteoblasts, and chondrocytes) and their potent immunomodulatory properties. hAD-MSCs function primarily through paracrine signaling, secreting a variety of cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors that reduce inflammation, promote angiogenesis, and stimulate endogenous tissue repair. Due to their low immunogenicity and relative ease of expansion in vitro, they are being investigated as a therapeutic platform for diverse conditions, including autoimmune diseases like systemic sclerosis, degenerative joint diseases like osteoarthritis, and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and cerebral palsy.
