human albumin + CryoStor CS10 is a specialized cryopreservation and suspension medium used as a vehicle for the delivery of autologous adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction (AD-SVF) cells. Developed by the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Toulouse, this combination is specifically utilized in clinical trials for treating systemic sclerosis and refractory ischemic digital ulcers. The medium typically consists of a 4% human albumin solution mixed with CryoStor CS10, a commercial medium containing 10% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Human albumin serves as a protein stabilizer and maintains oncotic pressure, while the DMSO in CryoStor CS10 acts as a cryoprotectant, preventing the formation of intracellular ice crystals and maintaining cell viability during the preparation and local injection into the patient's digits.
