Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Human Albumin Behring is a medicinal product containing human albumin, the primary protein in human blood plasma. It is available as a sterile solution for intravenous administration at a 20% concentration (200 g/l), with at least 96% of the total protein being human albumin. It functions primarily as a plasma expander, increasing circulating blood volume through its osmotic effect. When administered intravenously, it draws fluid into the circulation, thereby reducing hemoconcentration and blood viscosity. It accounts for maintaining oncotic pressure in the blood.
