Human amniotic mesenchymal stem cell conditioned medium (hAMSC-CM) is a cell-free biologic therapeutic derived from the secretome of mesenchymal stem cells isolated from the human amniotic membrane. It consists of a complex mixture of bioactive molecules, including growth factors, cytokines, chemokines, and extracellular vesicles (exosomes), which are released by the cells during in vitro expansion. hAMSC-CM exerts therapeutic effects through anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, anti-fibrotic, and pro-angiogenic mechanisms. Preclinical research has investigated its potential in treating conditions such as allergic asthma, myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury, cerebral ischemia, obesity, and age-related infertility. As a cell-free modality, it offers advantages over live stem cell transplantation by reducing risks of immune rejection and tumorigenicity while utilizing ethically accessible medical waste (amniotic membrane).
