Overview

The human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) superagonist is a recombinant, long-acting, high-potency modified glycoprotein hormone developed by Trophogen. It is designed using Trophogen's proprietary platform technology, which involves introducing amino acid substitutions (such as basic residues in the alpha subunit) to enhance electrostatic interactions with the luteinizing hormone/choriogonadotropin receptor (LHCGR). This results in significantly increased receptor binding affinity and bioactivity compared to wild-type hCG. The drug is being developed as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of female infertility, supporting ovulation and other assisted reproductive technology (ART) processes. It is currently in preclinical development.
