Confact F is a plasma-derived, dried concentrated human coagulation factor VIII preparation developed by the Japan Blood Products Organization (JBPO). It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia A (congenital factor VIII deficiency). The product works by replacing the deficient or absent clotting factor VIII, a critical component of the intrinsic coagulation pathway that acts as a cofactor for factor IXa in the activation of factor X. By restoring factor VIII levels, Confact F enables effective fibrin clot formation and hemostasis. It is administered intravenously and is produced through purification and viral inactivation steps from human plasma.
