Human cord blood-derived mononuclear cells (HCB-MNCs) is an investigational cell therapy being developed by The First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University for the treatment of refractory diabetic foot. The therapy consists of a heterogeneous population of cells, including immature immune cells and pluripotent stem cells, harvested from umbilical cord blood. HCB-MNCs are administered via local intramuscular or subcutaneous injection into the wound area. The mechanism of action involves the promotion of angiogenesis, tissue regeneration, and immune modulation to facilitate the healing of chronic, non-healing diabetic ulcers. The treatment is typically administered in multiple doses at weekly intervals to stimulate local repair mechanisms in ischemic or damaged tissues.
