Human fetal bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hfBMSCs) are multipotent stem cells isolated from fetal bone marrow tissues. These cells are characterized by high proliferative potential, low immunogenicity, and the ability to differentiate into various cell lineages, including osteoblasts, chondrocytes, and adipocytes. In the context of renal disease, hfBMSCs have been studied for their ability to migrate to sites of injury and promote functional recovery in both acute and chronic renal failure models. Their therapeutic mechanism is primarily attributed to the release of bioactive molecules that stimulate endogenous repair processes, reduce inflammation, and prevent apoptosis in renal tissues. Compared to adult-derived mesenchymal stem cells, fetal-derived cells often exhibit superior expansion capabilities and a more primitive phenotype, making them attractive candidates for regenerative medicine.
