Human fibrinogen is a plasma-derived protein product developed by Zhejiang Haikang Biological Products for the treatment of congenital or acquired fibrinogen deficiency, including afibrinogenemia and other bleeding disorders. As a replacement therapy, it provides exogenous fibrinogen (Coagulation Factor I), which is essential for the final stage of the blood coagulation cascade. Upon activation by thrombin, fibrinogen is converted into fibrin, which polymerizes to form a stable blood clot, thereby restoring hemostasis in patients with deficiencies. The product is currently in preclinical development and is formulated as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder derived from human plasma, intended for reconstitution and intravenous administration.
