Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Human IgG monoclonal antibodies against SFTS virus (Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome virus, also known as Dabie bandavirus) are therapeutic candidates developed to treat or prevent SFTS infections [6643]. Generated using humanized DRAGA mice (which possess a functional human immune system) immunized with a DNA vaccine encoding the M segment of the virus and boosted with recombinant protein, these human monoclonal antibodies (hmAbs) specifically target the SFTS virus envelope glycoprotein Gn [6643]. By binding to glycoprotein Gn, the antibodies neutralize the virus, inhibiting viral attachment and entry into host cells. Currently, these antibodies are in preclinical development, with no FDA-approved vaccines or therapeutics yet available for SFTS [6643].
