Overview

Human monoclonal antibodies against Staphylococcus aureus refers to a research-stage program being developed by the Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen (UMCG) in the Netherlands. This early-stage discovery program aims to generate fully human monoclonal antibodies for the treatment and prevention of Staphylococcus aureus infections and colonization, including those caused by toxin-producing strains. The program originates from a non-interventional blood collection study in adults and minors with S. aureus infection or wound colonization, designed to characterize serum antibody and B-cell responses. The resulting antibodies are intended to target S. aureus surface antigens and/or toxins to neutralize the pathogen and prevent colonization or invasive infection.
