Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TAK-880 is a 10% liquid formulation of human normal immunoglobulin (IVIG) developed by Takeda. It consists of highly purified immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies extracted from large pools of human plasma, containing a broad spectrum of opsonizing and neutralizing antibodies against various infectious agents. TAK-880 is the development code used by Takeda for the clinical evaluation and registration of its 10% IVIG product (marketed globally as Gammagard Liquid or Kiovig) in specific regions, notably Japan. It is indicated for replacement therapy in patients with primary immunodeficiency (PID) and secondary immunodeficiency (SID), as well as for immunomodulation in autoimmune and inflammatory disorders such as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). The 10% concentration allows for lower infusion volumes compared to 5% formulations, and the liquid format eliminates the need for reconstitution, facilitating easier administration.
