The human papillomavirus 15-valent vaccine (KR-001) is a recombinant virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine developed by Beijing Konruns Biological Technology. It is designed to provide broad-spectrum protection against human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and its associated malignancies, including cervical, vaginal, vulvar, and anal cancers, as well as genital warts. The vaccine targets 15 distinct HPV genotypes: the nine types covered by existing 9-valent vaccines (6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58) plus six additional high-risk types (35, 39, 51, 56, 59, and 68). By utilizing a yeast-based expression system (typically *Hansenula polymorpha*) to produce L1 capsid proteins that self-assemble into non-infectious VLPs, the vaccine induces a robust neutralizing antibody response. This expanded valency aims to increase the coverage of HPV-related cancers, particularly in regions where the additional six types are prevalent.
