Overview

**Human papillomavirus 4-valent vaccine recombinant** (4vHPV) is a prophylactic vaccine composed of recombinant virus-like particles corresponding to HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18. It is designed to elicit a protective immune response against these HPV types, which are responsible for approximately 70% of cervical cancers (types 16/18), 90% of genital warts (types 6/11), and other anogenital and oropharyngeal cancers. The vaccine works by stimulating neutralizing antibody formation against the major capsid protein L1 of HPV, thus preventing infection and progression to cancer or warts. Recombinant L1 proteins are produced using yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) expression systems. The primary indication is the prevention of HPV-associated cervical, vulvar, vaginal, anal cancers, and genital warts in both females and males prior to HPV exposure[1][2][7][10].
