Drug intelligence / Profile preview
REC603 is a recombinant 9-valent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine developed by Jiangsu Recbio Technology. It is designed to protect against nine HPV types: 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58. Unlike the first-generation 9-valent vaccine (Gardasil 9), which is produced in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, REC603 is expressed using a Hansenula polymorpha (Hansenula yeast) platform, which is intended to offer higher yields and improved scalability. The vaccine consists of virus-like particles (VLPs) formed by the L1 capsid proteins of the targeted HPV types. It is currently in Phase III clinical trials in China for the prevention of HPV-related diseases, including cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and anal intraepithelial neoplasia, as well as anogenital warts.
