Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Human papillomavirus type 16 DNA therapeutic vaccine is a preclinical DNA-based immunotherapy being developed by Zhuoyi Biological for the treatment of HPV16-associated infections and related lesions. Unlike prophylactic vaccines that prevent infection by inducing neutralizing antibodies, this therapeutic vaccine is designed to stimulate a cellular immune response, specifically targeting the E6 and E7 oncoproteins of HPV type 16. By delivering DNA plasmids encoding these viral antigens into host cells, the vaccine promotes the activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) to identify and eliminate HPV-infected or transformed cells, potentially treating persistent infections or preventing progression to cervical cancer.
