Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a lyophilized (freeze-dried) inactivated rabies vaccine produced in human diploid cells, currently under development by Shanghai Rongsheng Biotech. As a second-generation rabies vaccine, it utilizes human diploid cell culture technology, which is widely regarded as the 'gold standard' for its safety profile and high immunogenicity compared to older animal cell-derived vaccines. The vaccine is designed to prevent rabies infection by inducing the production of virus-neutralizing antibodies. It is currently in Phase 3 clinical development in China for rabies prophylaxis.
