Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination product consisting of human serum albumin (HSA) and indocyanine green (ICG). Indocyanine green is a near-infrared fluorescent dye that binds to plasma proteins, especially albumin, after intravenous injection. The resulting complex, ICG-HSA, exhibits enhanced tumor-targeting properties compared to free ICG due to the biological characteristics of HSA. This conjugate is primarily used as an imaging probe in biomedical research and clinical diagnostics for real-time tracking of protein distribution, assessment of tissue perfusion, and tumor localization via fluorescence imaging. Mechanistically, the HSA component serves as a carrier that prolongs circulation time and improves targeting efficiency; the ICG component provides strong near-infrared fluorescence for deep-tissue imaging[3][4][8]. The combination does not have direct therapeutic effects but serves as an advanced diagnostic tool.
