Human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell (hUC-MSC) injection is an allogeneic cell therapy product developed by Shenzhen Yinguan Biotechnology. It consists of mesenchymal stem cells harvested from the Wharton's jelly of human umbilical cords, which are expanded in vitro under controlled conditions. In the context of acute ischemic stroke, the cells are administered intravenously to leverage their multi-modal therapeutic potential. The primary mechanisms of action include the secretion of paracrine factors such as neurotrophic factors (e.g., BDNF, GDNF) and angiogenic factors (e.g., VEGF), which promote tissue repair and revascularization. Additionally, hUC-MSCs exhibit potent immunomodulatory properties, reducing the inflammatory response and oxidative stress in the ischemic brain, thereby limiting secondary neuronal damage and improving functional outcomes.
