Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) developed by Beijing Tuohua Weiye Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is an investigational cell therapy for the treatment of decompensated hepatitis B cirrhosis. These cells are derived from human umbilical cord tissue and are typically administered via intravenous infusion. The therapeutic mechanism involves the immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties of mesenchymal stem cells, which aim to improve liver function, reduce inflammation, and potentially reverse liver fibrosis by interacting with hepatic stellate cells and the liver microenvironment. A Phase I/II clinical trial has been initiated to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of this treatment in patients with HBV-related decompensated liver cirrhosis.
