Overview

Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) are multipotent cells derived from umbilical cord tissue with significant self-renewal and multi-lineage differentiation properties. They possess several therapeutic advantages including immunomodulatory effects, low immunogenicity, and paracrine actions. UC-MSCs can differentiate into various cell types including neural, bone, cartilage, and fat cells, making them valuable for tissue repair and regeneration. They secrete bioactive molecules such as cytokines, growth factors, and extracellular vesicles that modulate the local environment and stimulate the body's repair processes. UC-MSCs are being investigated for treating various conditions including neurodegenerative diseases, pulmonary disorders, autoimmune conditions, and inflammatory diseases.
