Overview

Human umbilical cord platelet-rich plasma (hUC-PRP) is an investigational biologic therapy developed by Fundación IVI in collaboration with the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria La Fe. It consists of a concentrated preparation of platelets derived from human umbilical cord blood, which serves as a rich reservoir of pro-regenerative growth factors and anti-inflammatory molecules. The therapy is specifically designed to treat endometrial pathologies that cause infertility, such as Asherman syndrome, endometrial atrophy, and thin endometrium. By delivering high concentrations of factors like stem cell factor (SCF) and platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) directly into the sub-endometrial wall via hysteroscopic injection, hUC-PRP aims to stimulate tissue repair, promote angiogenesis, and restore the functional thickness of the endometrial lining.
