Human umbilical mesenchymal stromal cord cells (*UC-MSCs* or *hUC-MSCs*) are **multipotent stromal cells** isolated from the connective tissue of the human umbilical cord. These cells are capable of differentiating into various lineages, including osteogenic, adipogenic, chondrogenic, neurogenic, and hepatic cells. Their primary mechanism of action involves **paracrine signaling** and **immunomodulation**, releasing bioactive molecules that promote tissue repair, dampen inflammation, and support regeneration in damaged tissues. UC-MSCs are derived from multiple compartments of the cord (Wharton’s jelly, perivascular region, sub-amnion, amnion membrane) and are mostly utilized in experimental and clinical trials for regenerative medicine, immunotherapy, cardiovascular disease, graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), neurological disorders, immune disorders, wound healing, and tissue restoration[1][2][3].
