Overview

Humiome Post LB (also known as Humiome Postbiotics) is a postbiotic ingredient developed by DSM-Firmenich following its acquisition of Adare Biome. It is composed of two proprietary inactivated *Lactobacillus* strains (*L. fermentum* and *L. delbrueckii*), their metabolites, and the fermented culture medium, produced via a specialized ECHO fermentation process. As a postbiotic, it consists of inanimate microorganisms and their components that provide health benefits without the risks associated with live probiotics, such as translocation or antibiotic resistance. Humiome Post LB is primarily targeted at gut health, where it modulates the microbiome, supports gut barrier integrity, and improves bowel regularity. It is also being researched for broader applications in immune health, metabolic health, brain health, and healthy aging, supported by extensive clinical and scientific documentation.
