Drug intelligence / Profile preview
huMNC2-CAR (secreted factor variant) is a preclinical autologous CAR T cell therapy developed by Minerva Biotechnologies for the treatment of MUC1*-positive solid tumors. It targets MUC1*, a cleaved, tumor-associated form of the MUC1 protein that acts as a growth factor receptor and is prevalent on over 75% of solid tumor cells. This specific variant is engineered to secrete a factor designed to enhance T cell persistence in vivo, addressing a common limitation of CAR T therapies in solid tumor environments. The targeting domain utilizes the huMNC2 antibody, which specifically binds to MUC1* without cross-reacting with full-length MUC1 found on normal tissues.
