humZ270 is a first-in-class humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the monocyte differentiation antigen CD14, developed by Humanitas Mirasole S.p.A. CD14 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein primarily expressed on the surface of myeloid cells, including monocytes and macrophages, and is often highly expressed on malignant blasts in monocytic and myelomonocytic subtypes of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML). humZ270 is designed to treat relapsed or refractory myeloid malignancies by binding to CD14, which may lead to the depletion of malignant cells or the modulation of the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation for patients with AML, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPN).
