Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huotan Jiedu Tongluo is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) granule formulation developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine. It is designed to address residual cardiovascular risk in patients with coronary heart disease and angina pectoris following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The therapy is based on the TCM theoretical framework of 'Tan Yu Fu Xie, Yun Jie Cheng Du,' which identifies phlegm, blood stasis, and toxins as key drivers of persistent vascular risk. Huotan Jiedu Tongluo aims to resolve phlegm, detoxify, and improve collateral circulation. Clinical studies focus on its efficacy in modulating lipid profiles—specifically reducing triglycerides (TG) and increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)—and suppressing inflammation as measured by high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP).
