Overview
Huoxiangzhengqi soft capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Tianjin Zhongxin Pharmaceutical Group No. 6 Chinese Medicine (Darentang). It is a modern soft capsule version of the classic Huoxiangzhengqi formula, designed to improve bioavailability and patient compliance. The drug is primarily indicated for the treatment of the common cold caused by external wind-cold and internal dampness stagnation, which often manifests as symptoms such as headache, chest tightness, abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Its mechanism of action is based on TCM principles of inducing diaphoresis to dispel cold, resolving dampness, and regulating the middle jiao (stomach and spleen) to harmonize the digestive system. The formulation typically contains a complex mixture of herbal extracts, including *Agastache rugosa*, *Perilla frutescens*, and *Angelica dahurica*, among others.
