Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huoxue Changzhi granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). The formula is designed based on the TCM principle of "invigorating blood and smoothing the mind" (Huoxue Changzhi), addressing the pathological mechanisms of anxiety as defined in traditional practice. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials in China as part of an optimized TCM regimen, where it is compared against standard pharmacotherapy such as buspirone. The drug is typically administered orally in a granule dosage form and is often used within a syndrome-differentiation framework to target specific TCM patterns associated with anxiety.
