Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huoxue Huatan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula, available in both decoction and granule forms. It is composed of multiple herbal ingredients including Guawu Pi (Trichosanthes Kirilowii Maxim), Xie Bai (Allium macrostemon Bunge), Ge Gen (Pueraria), Chuan Xiong (Ligusticum chuanxiong), Dan Shen (Salvia miltiorrhiza), Chi Shao (Paeonia lactiflora), Ze Xie (Alisma plantago-aquatica), Huang Qi (Astragalus membranaceus), Gu Sui Bu (Drynaria fortunei), and Yu Jin (Curcuma root). The formula is being investigated for its clinical efficacy in preventing and treating ventricular remodeling in patients with myocardial infarction, particularly those with true cardialgia and phlegm-stasis interlocking syndrome. Its mechanism of action is believed to involve the regulation of intestinal flora.
